Service that is second to none, graciousness, helpfulness, attention to needs, humor and smiles √ √ √

The Grand, a prominent property of the Sofitel Legend collection is located in what might be the most perfect possible location in Amsterdam center, a quiet and stunning historical canal that is no more than a stone’s throw away from shops, major sites, trams and all the action you could ask for. The service offered here, as its name suggests, is nothing short of remarkable.   The hotel manages to maintain an old world detail to quality which sets it apart from other properties, making for an exceptional sense of relaxation and well-being.   Sometimes little anecdotes tell a story best and I have just the perfect one for this hotel.  As I was leaving from what had been a two night stay (wish it was longer!), the front desk manager handed me a white bag with the emblem of the hotel on it. She informed me that the breakfast crew wanted to leave us something to remember them by (they were literally the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of crossing paths with). Much to my surprise, there inside the bag they had given me, was a silver pitcher of milk – the very one which I had admired the previous day at breakfast. Along with the gift I got a touching note which I swear, I am keeping forever. Unparalleled and unrivaled in all respects!

For those seeking extra privacy, this property has three guest houses which lead directly to the canal as well as an option of exiting through the lobby. Butler service, spa and pool, a cigar lounge, a private dining room, a garden terrace, a bistro and a bar – each of superior quality and each complementing what is without a doubt a tour de force in terms of hotel experiences.
